Astrofire Arena
"Astrofire Arena" is a top-down, local multiplayer party game set in space. In this sci-fi universe, players enter the annual Ace Pilot Cup, where pilots from across the galaxy compete for the title of Space Champion. Players build powerful ships and battle in a unique space arena until only one remains standing as the ultimate champion.
Scope
As a game artist, I was responsible for conceptualizing and 3D modelling all spaceship compartments. The challenge was to design the spacecraft pieces in a way that allowed players to assemble their own ships using various parts (core, weapon, and special power) while ensuring that the final ship fit seamlessly into each compartment.
Additionally, I developed a futuristic UI for players to use while building their ships.

Understanding the Client's Needs
I take special care to understand my client's needs. For this project, the request was for a low-poly, colourful, and fun style. After gathering their initial input through detailed questioning, I created mood boards for us to discuss and refine our vision for the desired outcome.

UI Building
UI Building
The initial design created by the game designers was functional but lacked style and clarity due to insufficient titles and user feedback.
Through a research-based approach, I developed a futuristic UI, incorporating icons for each ship stat. Navigation arrows were added to provide a more intuitive experience when switching between menus.
